Terra Larson
Terra Larson is a partner at May, Adam, Gerdes & Thompson LLP and has been with the firm since 2016. Terra focuses her practice on civil litigation, government relations, and appellate practice.
Terra has a substantial background in civil litigation which makes her well qualified to assist clients in a broad spectrum of situations. She has represented clients regarding a variety of complex issues and forwarded their cases to final disposition before the South Dakota Supreme Court and the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Terra is a member of the State Bar of South Dakota, the South Dakota Defense Lawyers Association, and is licensed to practice before the Federal District Court for the District of South Dakota, as well as the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals. Terra is also a Federal Criminal Justice Act panel attorney and is licensed to practice before several tribal courts throughout South Dakota.
Terra resides in Pierre with her husband, Graham, and daughter. She enjoys gardening, cooking, hunting, and fishing. Terra grew up in rural Eastern Montana and graduated from South Dakota State University in 2007. After graduating from South Dakota State University, she worked full-time for a number of years, doing government relations, for Daktronics, prior to attending law school. She obtained her Juris Doctorate from the University of South Dakota School of Law in 2016 with Sterling Honors (signifying she graduated in the top ten percent of her law school class). Terra was the Symposium Editor of the South Dakota Law Review and published an article titled The Productivity Problem: An Analysis of Conservation Easement Taxation Issues Following South Sakota's Implementation of a Productivity-Based Land Valuation System, 60 S.D. L. REV. 353.
